ASG is manufacturing the toroidal superconducting coils for ITER, one of the most important research projects in the world. ITER seeks to demonstrate the possibility of producing clean energy using the same process used by the sun and stars. HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS

ASG has been collaborating for many years with CERN in Geneva. The magnets supplied for the LHC tunnel, as well as for the CMS and ATLAS detectors, contributed to the discovery of the Higgs Boson.

MEDICAL

ASG's know-how, along with Columbus Superconductors' magnesium diboride (MgB2) cable, has allowed us to create an open ("anti-claustrophobia") and cryogen-free MRI system, the only one of its kind in the world. MrOpen is entirely designed and developed in house and is already in use in diagnostic centers in the USA, Canada and UK.

Superconducting technology is bringing innovation also to energy storage systems and is helping to make grids safer, protecting them from blackout risks. THE SUPERCONDUCTIVITY SUPPLY CHAIN

ASG Superconductors - whose activities span from superconductivity to innovative materials research to magnet technology - is part of the high-tech supply chain owned by the Malacalza family. The chain includes Paramed, which has developed an "open" MRI system using magnets of a unique design, and Columbus Superconductors, which in turn produces an innovative "high temperature" superconducting cable in magnesium diboride (MgB2).
